The Grenzach-Wyhlen (Baden-Württemberg) combined cycle cogeneration plant, with its 40 MW of electricity and 75 MW thermal output, exemplifies EEP’s tailor made solutions. EEP was responsible for the development, financing and construction of the plant. The state of the art combined heat and power plant supplies DSM Nutritional Products GmbH and Ciba Spezialitätenchemie Grenzach GmbH with electricity and steam since its commissioning in 2004. In this project it was possible to achieve extensive synergy and savings effects for the 4 customers on site. They receive full supplies of electricity and steam for their production facilities and any excess electricity thus generated is marketed via the public grid.
