Infraserv Gendorf Gas and Steam Cogeneration Plant

Since 2002, a newly constructed gas turbine plant (GTX 100), with heat recovery boiler (40 MW electricity and 90 MW thermal output), in the Chemiepark Gendorf (Bavaria), has made a significant contribution to the cost efficient provision of energy to the companies at the location. The plant was built within 16 months.

The implementation of this gas turbine allowed energy generation at the location to be increased considerably and the existing combined heat and power plant was made fit for the future.

A project company was founded for the construction and operation of the highly efficient plant together with Infraserv Gendorf GmbH, the local infrastructure and services provider, in which both partners have a 50% stake. The energy contracting project not only improved the competitiveness of the companies in the plant but also the environmental balance sheet. CO2 emissions have been reduced by about 148,000 tonnes per year in comparison with electricity supplied from the public grid.
