In July 2007 construction work began on a refuse derived fuel CHP plant for Kali Salz GmbH (fertiliser production) at its Heringen site (Hessen). EEP was responsible for project development. The operation of the power station, with its 130 MW thermal output, will be the responsibility of E.ON Energy from Waste AG. The peculiarity of the plant lies in its technical complexity and the required integration in the customer’s existing plant systems. Due to synergies extremely efficient and thus economical operation of the heating plant will be possible.
